How to edit a PDF

Add text, a signature or images to a PDF, or fill in its form fields, then download the new PDF. The original content stays as it was.

  1. Choose a PDF

Drop a file or choose one from your device. It opens in your browser.

  2. Add what you need

Pick text, signature, image, highlight or white box, then tap the page. Drag to move, resize or delete.

  3. Download the PDF

Press Download PDF. Your additions go onto the original pages and text stays selectable.

What can it do?

Text and signatures

English and Traditional Chinese text. A drawn signature is added as an image, not a certificate-based digital signature.

Fill in forms

Type into a PDF's text fields, tick checkboxes and pick options. XFA forms and signature fields aren't supported yet.

Highlight and white box

A white box only covers content. The text underneath is still in the file, so don't use it to remove private details.

No rewriting existing text

This tool adds content on top of the page; it doesn't rewrite the PDF's own sentences. For bigger changes, try PDF to Word.

Your file never leaves your device

Your files are read and processed by your own browser. They are not uploaded to HKPDF or any server. Processing needs no network; the connection is only used to load the page, the tool and usage analytics.

The site only counts page views and tool use: no cookies, no screen recording, and no file names or contents.

FAQ

Asked often.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF, the text you type and your signature are handled in your browser and never sent to a server.

Can I change the text that's already in the PDF?

Not yet. You can add text, signatures, images and highlights on top. To replace wording, cover it with a white box and type over it (the old text is still in the file), or use PDF to Word.

Is a drawn signature a digital signature?

No. It's added to the page as an image, which is different from signing with a digital certificate. If a document needs a digital signature, use a signing service.

Can I fill in PDF forms?

Yes. Text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns in standard PDF forms work, including Chinese input. XFA forms and signature fields aren't supported yet.

Can a white box remove private information?

No. It only covers content on the page; the text underneath can still be copied or searched. Don't use it for anything that must really be removed.

Why is Chinese text slower the first time?

The first time you add Chinese text, your browser loads a Chinese font once (about 7 MB) so the screen matches the saved PDF. Only the characters you used are embedded in the file. English-only edits don't need it.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Editing is free, with no account and no watermark.
