How to convert PDF to Word

Turn the text in a PDF into a document you can edit, with reusable tables and images.

  1. Choose a PDF

Drop a file or choose one from your device. Use a PDF with selectable text.

  2. Convert to Word

The tool rebuilds text, tables and images on your device.

  3. Download and check

Open the DOCX in Word, check the layout, then edit your content.

What converts best?

PDFs with selectable text

Letters, reports and tables exported from Word or other applications. English and Traditional Chinese text are supported.

Check complex layouts

Fonts, page breaks, underlines and some artwork may change. Merged cells and fixed-height tables may need adjusting after edits.

Your file never leaves your device

Your files are read and processed by your own browser. They are not uploaded to HKPDF or any server. Processing needs no network; the connection is only used to load the page, the tool and usage analytics.

The site only counts page views and tool use: no cookies, no screen recording, and no file names or contents.

FAQ

Asked often.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the PDF, converts it and creates the Word document locally. File names and contents are never sent to a server.

Can I edit the converted text?

Yes. The output is a DOCX with editable text and recognized tables. Images stay as images; the tool does not turn each page into a screenshot.

Will the layout look exactly the same?

Not always. The tool reconstructs text positions and tables, but fonts, pagination, complex artwork and some formatting can change. Review the document before using or sending it. Longer edits may need table rows to be resized.

Can I convert scanned or photographed PDFs?

Not yet. Scans need optical character recognition (OCR). If a PDF includes scanned pages without selectable text, the tool stops with a message instead of producing an incomplete document.

What are the file limits?

One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB and 100 pages. Complex or large documents use more memory, so a computer is recommended.

What about password-protected PDFs?

If a PDF needs a password to open, use Unlock PDF with your own password and save a copy first, then convert that copy.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Conversion is free, with no account and no watermark.
